Short Description The collection reflects the community's ethnicity, which is primarily African-American, Caribbean and Hispanic. The collection has a cache of 2,000 plus Black-themed books consisting of adult fiction, non-fiction and reference as a distinct section of the library. Black heritage material is available in all media for adults and children; bilingual material is in French and Spanish, and in Creole for children. The Youth Services section has a large collection of books and DVDs for children and teens, informative magazines to enhance reading skills, children-only computer banks, and a special section for Caldecott and Coretta Scott King award-winning books.
