Collection highlights are Florida gardening and on nutrition and career and vocational testing material for adults. Branch amenities include: multi-purpose room, conference room, branch seating for 130 visitors, group study room, tutoring room, banks of public use computers, an AWE literacy station, storytelling/program room and public art by Richard Heipp. It is a popular after-school destination for students and upwards of 100 students gravitate to the branch at the end of the school day.

The collection totals 24,765 items including books, Audiobooks, DVDS, CDs, tablets and Playaway Launch Pads. There is a large African American, African Diaspora collection. A variety of adult and youth materials are available in Creole, Spanish and Portuguese. Location of the Annual Blues and Sweet Potato Pie Juneteenth Festival.

The library’s collection contains over 50,000 items with print materials, foreign language books and DVDs, reference materials, large print books, audio books, DVDs, and CDs. The collection also includes holographic, virtual reality MERGE Cubes that can be borrowed. The Youth Services collection includes picture books, chapter books, young adult reading materials, LaunchPads, and other materials to promote learning and literacy.

The collection is large and diverse reflecting a vibrant, international population, with materials for all ages in Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Hebrew and Russian. The lobby has terrazzo floor design that gives visitors the illusion of traversing the Everglades under a ceiling that shows the sky from an alligator’s underwater perspective. It is a joint use public library/high school media center created by Broward County and the City of Pembroke Pines, becoming the first partnership of its kind in South Florida.

The collection provides fiction and non-fiction materials for all ages and is particularly strong in its Large Print selections. Current periodicals are available onsite and customers are provided with a comfortable reading area in which to enjoy them. An international collection is available in fiction and non-fiction print materials, as well as a collection of foreign films, featuring Spanish, German, Portuguese and French. Sunrise Branch has an extensive collection of language-learning CDs in a wide variety of languages, including Russian, Haitian Creole, Italian, Chinese and Hebrew, in addition to the aforementioned languages. There are seven highly-trafficked study rooms, a Youth Services program room and a meeting room, which is used for library and community programs. There are 27 computers available for public use.
